The Colon Gigante, an structure of 24mts which scales the human colon was inaugurated in Chile in the context of the PreviColon campaign organized by the most prestigious medical center in the country.
This huge structure forms an “interactive colon” which displays a medical prevention and cultural presentation. Inside the colon there are audio presentations, posters and plasma TVs which provide information about the progression of the colon cancer, the characteristics of the disease and the means of prevention.

In the last 10 years colon cancer related mortality has doubled and today it is the third cause of death in Chile. The COLON GIGANTE Organization seeks to promote Colon Cancer preventive behavior in society, that is, the implementation of regular examinations, physical exercise and a healthy diet. |
